When I saw the above picture of France's new President Francois Hollande, I was reminded of a quote Ed Rasimus left in a comment on another post. When a Roman general rode into Rome to accept his accolades for a glorious victory, another man rode with him in the chariot. That man's sole job was to whisper in the victor's ear - "Thou art mortal. Thou art mortal..."
