This Winter Campaign

Well folks I guess this is the winter at Valley Forge. The housing is horrible. The food is well nigh absent. Troops are thinking of packing it in. Clothing is threadbare. The Hessians are comfortably asleep in Trenton after carousing on Christmas Day. And yet George Washington managed to lead that band of soldiers into a surprise raid on those soused Hessians and WIN.

Do the Republicans, at this juncture, have the guts to band together and do something NOW to secure victory in November. Or will they slink away to their homes and farms while the nation they love suffers? Are Republicans summer soldiers or winter soldiers? Will some of the party yeild the field of battle to the other side due to bruised egos like Arnold tried to do at West Point?

“These are extraordinary times and we face an extraordinary challenge. Our strength as well as our convinctions have imposed upon this nation the role of leader in freedom’s cause.” President John F. Kennedy.
