US and Israeli Flags

Since the three Israeli soldiers kidnapped by Hamas and Hezbollah are still missing, extending the post date to next year. May they be returned to their families alive before I have to change the date again.

As of 15 July 2008 it seems Israel is ready to trade live breathing murdering terrorists to recover the two Israeli soldiers kidnapped back in 2006 that started Israel's violent war against Hizbullah. There is not a lot of hope the soldiers are still alive since the terrorists never care for their prisoners save to be used as pawns. Lets still pray they are alive to make this travesty at least a little worthwhile. Pray for all the families.

Anna,

What is with the date of this post? July 2007?

Am I missing something?

Anna said...

Atheling2, by putting such a date on the post, it stays at the top until I change it. Bit of a cheat I know but works.

And thank you Skye for the comment. :)

Two flags, two countries that have to pay a terrible price in patriots blood to stay free.

As Buchanan would tell you, dual loyalty on parade,Israel's flag towers over the US,fittingly as it owns the US Congress.

Thank you Anonymous for shatting. Shatting bad writing that was penned by a mad Frenchman in the 19th Century no less and copied by the Tsar's Secret Police. Can't you think of anything original?

Cloudberry said...

To perhaps be more original than anonymous...
It's just a picture, so it's hard to read a lot into it, but I suspect it's trying to demonstrate the two countries' duty to stand by one another...which, given Israel's relative weakness, is an American duty to stand by Israel. Whence that duty? America was founded by Anglo-Saxons. There is no kinship with Israel.

Furthermore, you say Israel pays a high price to be free. She pays a high price to exist where she exists. Why do you suppose there is such a high price? *Because there were people there before!* Perhaps the Jewish people originate from Palestine, but that doesn't give them an automatic right to that land, any more than it gives the English a right to the peninsula of Angeln in Germany, whence the English came, but which is now inhabited by...Germans.

Anna said...

Cloudberry, your examples are in-exact since Europe like any other part of the globe has seen many migrations of tribes across it thoughout history. Even Islamic forces tried to forcefully migrate into Europe via the Iberian peninsula and up through the Balkans; they were turned back.

And if you had bothered to read the original UN Resolution creating the state of Israel you would know the British Protectorate of Palestine was divided into two: Palestine and Israel. The Arabs denounced the resolution, attacked, and were defeated by a materailly inferior Jewish military. Right of Return has nothing to with anything, the Arabs lost in 1948 and keep on losing.

New Lizard said...

I did read the Resolution; that doesn't change what I said. Up until very recently, the vast majority of people in Israel/Palestine were Palestinians, i.e. Arabs; Jewish inwandering didn't begin until the late 1800s. Why did they come? Because they felt a spiritual connexion with the land, just as, I was trying to say, the Anglo-Saxons could justifiably feel with Angeln--all this notwithstanding the tribal wanderings you correctly cite. So even if Israel were only to occupy about half the land of Palestine, which it was supposed to, it would still be an artificially inflated settler state existing on land occupied more recently by other people.

You say they defeated the Arabs in 1948, which they did. So would you be all right with cutting the US/Israeli special relationship? You didn't really address why there should be a close alliance between our two nations (or perhaps you don't think there should be one; the picture suggests otherwise).

You say the Arabs keep on losing but as both Ron Paul and Rev. Wright say, 9/11 and the Iraq War were largely caused by Zionist control of our foreign policy-just as experts Mearsheimer and Walt argue in "The Lobby."

What with 4000 troops killed, tens of thousands wounded, amputations commonly, and what with the thousands killed in the WTC and Pentagon, it appears Americans are losing big too.

not to mention the crumbling economy, so enjoy the Lobby-driven no-win Iraq quagmire.

The Israeli's probably already bulldozed the house they were being kept in.

Don't you get it? That photo is why the world hates us. Why should we give 2.6 billion dollars per year to a rich country who has bombed our ships and spied on us?

Anna said...

Toad why should we give billions of assistance to a country that sends saboteurs into a neighboring country, kidnaps citziens of yet another country, and illegally seized a US Naval vessel in international waters? But President Clinton did it and former President Carter urged it. That place is called North Korea. Now go peddle your anti-Semitism somewhere else like StormFront.
