McCarthy?

This is absolutely incredible. All these actors running around yelling that President Bush and his digital brownshirts under the command of UnterFuhrer Rove are squashing people's rights. And the Screen Actors Guild does this to an Academy Award winner. All Mr. Voight wanted to do was help a friend exercise their creativity and it seems the Screen Actors Guild had an attack of the vapors.

I am reminded of a line from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. From Princess Leia to Grand Moff Tarkin, "the more you tighten your grasp, more systems will slip away." Or words to that effect. The SAG in this case is trying to blacklist Mr. Voight all because he wanted to help a friend.

Here we see the SAG acting in a knee-jerk way to retain their supremacy over the actors they are supposed to represent. If the facts are inconvenient then manufacture false accusations and by the time the smoke clears the opponent is knocked out of the ring. And to tell Mr. Voight he is not invited to a ceremony where he is nominated shows a real lack of class, but plenty of chutzpah.

Time for regieme change at the SAG? Where is Ronald W. Reagan now? SAG needs a hero to rescue it from itself.
