Here is the transcript of Asst. Secretary of State Campbell's press briefing. This occurred after his one day closed door talks with PRC Vice Foreign Minister Cui in Hawai'i.
I think a few things can be drawn from this. The United States emphasized it had interests and treaties with various countries in the region. North Korea continues to be a festering pox that the PRC needs to nudge. And the issues in the South China Sea were also discussed, mainly the US wants a peaceful resolution to the matter. The trick now becomes will the PRC actually honestly work towards an agreement that benefits everyone in that area?
