A Wasted Crisis

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is quoted as saying "never let a crisis go to waste." Too bad it seems Barry had no plan when it came to the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico that has killed men and polluted shoreline while destroying fisheries, destroying local economies, and threatening wildlife. How else to explain all the vacations, golfing trips, basketball meets, and such since the explosion happened. Even the likes of Peggy Noonan are waking up to the fact that Barry Obama is not the towering fixer of all that is wrong in DC that he was billed as.

Too bad the 1994 containment plan could not be carried out, no one ever bought the booms. Too bad Deep Horizon was given safety waivers in the past year by the federal government. So men died because things like a blow-out pressure test was not carried out. Both BP and the federal government are culpable by this one waiver for what happened. And because of a 1990 Executive Order, in the event of such an accident in such deep water it becomes a Federal responsibility and this government has failed all of its citizens by not exercising that responsibility.
