Tropical Forecast

The big island in Hawaii is bracing for the effects of Hurricane Flossie tonight. Hopefully all they get is some rain and wind, nothing else on top of the earlier earthquake.

Meanwhile there is a massive cell of storms in the central Gulf of Mexico that has some worried about development. If it keeps sending storms to Texas development is unlikely, though it will definitely rain on everyone's parade for the rest of the week.

More attention is being focused on Tropical Storm Dean that is zipping westward at 21mph. Should be skirting south of the Greater Antilles sometime this weekend and entering the Caribbean. According to current forecast, which must be taken with a grain of salt. Hopefully this Dean lives up to a previous Dean, Howard Dean. One 'Yeeeaarrggghh!' moment and then no more.

Stay tuned everyone. And this would be a good time to review one's storm supplies to see where the shortfalls are.
