Since the three Israeli soldiers kidnapped by Hamas and Hezbollah are still missing, extending the post date to next year. May they be returned to their families alive before I have to change the date again.
As of 15 July 2008 it seems Israel is ready to trade live breathing murdering terrorists to recover the two Israeli soldiers kidnapped back in 2006 that started Israel's violent war against Hizbullah. There is not a lot of hope the soldiers are still alive since the terrorists never care for their prisoners save to be used as pawns. Lets still pray they are alive to make this travesty at least a little worthwhile. Pray for all the families.

ReplyDeleteIt's just a picture, so it's hard to read a lot into it, but I suspect it's trying to demonstrate the two countries' duty to stand by one another...which, given Israel's relative weakness, is an American duty to stand by Israel. Whence that duty? America was founded by Anglo-Saxons. There is no kinship with Israel.
Furthermore, you say Israel pays a high price to be free. She pays a high price to exist where she exists. Why do you suppose there is such a high price? *Because there were people there before!* Perhaps the Jewish people originate from Palestine, but that doesn't give them an automatic right to that land, any more than it gives the English a right to the peninsula of Angeln in Germany, whence the English came, but which is now inhabited by...Germans.
Cloudberry, your examples are in-exact since Europe like any other part of the globe has seen many migrations of tribes across it thoughout history. Even Islamic forces tried to forcefully migrate into Europe via the Iberian peninsula and up through the Balkans; they were turned back.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you had bothered to read the original UN Resolution creating the state of Israel you would know the British Protectorate of Palestine was divided into two: Palestine and Israel. The Arabs denounced the resolution, attacked, and were defeated by a materailly inferior Jewish military. Right of Return has nothing to with anything, the Arabs lost in 1948 and keep on losing.
